Funding for a Space Mission Confirmed

The Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. just forwarded us the go-ahead for a joint quantum satellite mission. The QUICK3 mission will bring a CubeSat with a high brightness single photon source into orbit for testing and to conduct experiments with single photons in microgravity.

The project will start in September 2021 with a team of the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik (FBH), and the Freie Universität Berlin.

Stay tuned for the launch in, hopefully, in 2024.
