Congrats to Johannes Kretzschmar from the LICHTWERKSTATT JENAExternal link - Open Photonics Makerspace, for winning the HotStuffAward of the PhotonicsDays2021External link with his pitch on "low-cost single-photon detectors".

His project is a spin-off of a student project of the "Innovation Methods in Photonics" lecture of the Abbe School of Photonics and the maQUer.SPACE project of the QuantumAktivExternal link programme.

While I am sure that Johannes will make the entire pitch available on the website of the Lichtwerkstatt, I'd like to share two screenshots here with you. Do not miss the BabyPhoton on the left and the full-grown SinglePhotons in the right, dancing behind our own Sebastian Ritter on our DoItYourself single photon source on the right.
