In our newest work we show, that Exciton-Polaritons in Transition Metal Dichalcogenides are in fact Exciton-Phonon-PolaritonsExternal link As they say, "three is company". This work will help to develop better models for the dynamics of excitations in 2D-Materials and is major step towards polaritonic lasing.

Congrats to Donghai Li, Christian Schneider, and Tobias Brixner for tenaciously leading the team to this scientific success. This work was enabled by scientists on three continents, namely the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, the Fraunhofer IOF, the Max Planck School of Photonics, the National Institute for Materials Science, and the Arizona State University.
