Prof. Dr. Stefan Nolte has been elected honorary member by the International Society for Optics and Photonics SPIE.
The SPIE was founded in 1955 and has more than 16,000 members, more than 4,000 of them in Europe. The headquarters are in Bellingham (Washington). The SPIE organizes and supports about 25 conferences, exhibitions and educational programs worldwide each year. Since 1955, more than 1,000 SPIE members have been appointed honorary members. In the group of 71 honorary members newly elected this year, Stefan Nolte is one of only three scientists from Germany.
