INSTITUTE OF APPLIED PHYSICS - STIFT Green Photonics Exceptional Award to Luisa Coriand

STIFT Green Photonics Exceptional Award to Luisa Coriand

Luisa Coriand has received the Green Photonics Exceptional Award Thuringia of the Foundation for Technology, Innovation and Research Thuringia (STIFT) for the best dissertation.
The trophy money of 1,250 euro got the physicist for their work about the development of a measurement and analyzing methodology on complex characterization of the structure - property relationship of hydrophobic and hydrophilic functional surfaces up to super hydrophobicity and anti-fog effects. In her dissertation, the basis for a specific realization of the necessary wetting properties of optical and technical functional surfaces was created.

The distinction was awarded on April 7, 2014 at the Hannover Fair. The Young Investigator Award is awarded by the Fraunhofer Society to promote applied research. In this context, the STIFT honors Thuringian scientists and graduates who concern in its theses about the sustainable use of light. Deciding for an award are the scientific quality and the application relevance of the work and the importance of the Economic and Research in Thuringia, which was evaluated by a jury of representatives from industry, science and politics.
