Prof. Stefan Nolte welcomes Participants of the Atlantis-MILMI-Program

The 3rd Summer School of the Atlantis-MILMI program in Jena was held in July 2012. Prof. Stefan Nolte, Member of the Atlantis MILMI Board, welcomed the students of the United States, France and Germany. An exciting and varied week with presentations, company visits, workshops and leisure activities waited on them, organized by the Abbe School of Photonics. The purpose of this exchange program is the internationalization and networking between the universities and students as well as a cross-disciplinary training.

Starting in August 2009, the Atlantis MILMI Program is a new master's degree, and it offers dual Master´s degrees in the interdisciplinary field of Lasers, Photonics and Materials Science by a consortium of four institutions, the Physics and Chemistry departments of the University of Bordeaux, France, the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität in Jena, Germany, the College of Optics & Photonics of the University of Central Florida and the School of materials Science & Engineering, Clemson University, South Carolina. This advanced degree program creates individualized education and training in optics, lasers, photonics, optical materials and the interaction of light with matter, drawing on their unique expertise, research programs, and educational curricula.
