W.Eckstein erklärt

From 15th to 18th April, the interactive exhibition "Entdecker aufgepasst" invited especially children and young people into the GoetheGalerie Jena. Convenient to the "Year of Light 2015" researchers of our Institute (IAP), the Fraunhofer Institute Jena, the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology and the Optical Museum were experimenting together with the explorers of the future.
So even kindergarten kids from four years could experiment under guidance optical crafts. So they could use different prism glasses that switch the direction of view, and with help of a mirror box the tiny visitors could look into infinity. The researchers also help to make small Thaumatropes and Anamorphosis.

Anstehen bei der Unendlichkeit

Pupils, teenagers and adults could built a spectrometer for cell phones or explore at the optic wall the refraction of light and try a very small infrared camera.
In addition, the popular laser marking system was used to label pens with individual messages.
The exhibition ended on Saturday with the final show. Our scientists showed jointly with Prof. Paulus on stage exciting experiments.
