INSTITUTE OF APPLIED PHYSICS - Dr. Stefanie Kroker receives a call for Braunschweig

Dr. Stefanie Kroker receives a call for Braunschweig

From April Stefanie Kroker accedes her junior professorship for "Metrology of functional nanosystems" at Laboratory for Emerging Nanometrology (LENA) of the Technical University of Braunschweig and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB). She acquire renown in the field of light-matter interaction in optical micro- and nanostructures, especially in monolithic meta-surfaces, that can increase the fundamental noise limit of gravity waves interferometers thousand times. Even in Braunschweig she will apply this knowledge in her new research area of metrology and sensor technology at and with functional nanoscale materials.

To the junior professorship both are connected - excellent technical and human resources. In this position, her experiences which she made through her work at our University will be of great benefit e.g. in the academic self-government, or for applying and processing of research projects.
Particularly Stefanie Kroker is looking forward to the many new challenges in growing her own research group and lectures.
The old colleagues congratulate this appointment - at the same time we will lose a friendly, dedicated scientist who helped to shape the IAP for more than six years.
