A day for former and current colleagues

Alumni-Networking and Open Day 2016

The 2nd Alumni Networking took place on Friday, the 17th of June 2016. At least round 30 former colleagues followed the invitation and Andreas Tünnermann opened the meeting and informed the audience about the last year´s interesting news of the two Institutes IAP and Fraunhofer-IOF. Following Dr. Erik Beckert informed about tests of 3D Inkjet printing in optics especially at the Fraunhofer-IOF. Alexander Szameit gave a lecture about photonic quantum computer chips - the idea behind and expounded some of his spectacular research results in this field. After a break filled with conversation and lunch, the attendees listened to Dr. Alexandre Gatto, who spoke about the development and fabrication of microstructures at Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH. The official part of the networking ended with guided tours through the new building of the Abbe Center of Photonics (ACP) and selected labs of the Fraunhofer-IOF. The day ended with a come-together within the open day at the two Institutes and meeting current colleagues.
