Second-Harmonic Generation of Single BaTiO3 Nanoparticles down to 22 nm Diameter!

Together with the Institute for Energetics and Interphases, Department of Genoa, scientists of the research group Nano Optics show in their latest publication the nonlinear optical properties of barium titanate nanocrystals down to a size that was never achieved before. The investigations of the electro-optic properties at the nanoscale are critical to ensure the success of future applications as high densities memories for computers or contrast markers for biological imaging applications.
