For the third time, the CiS e.V. assigns the award for diploma and/or master thesis in the areas of the sensor system, actoric, micro-system technology and photovoltaics. With this award outstanding achievements in these areas will be honored, which have preferably been made in conjunction with the industry. In May 2012, Astrid Bingel, physicist of the Institute of Applied Physics, receives the award for her diploma thesis "Transparent and conductive aluminum-doped ZnO films".
This work provides a significant approach for new resource-efficient solutions in the energy and information technology. Transparent and simultaneous highly conductive layers are an integral part of many optoelectronic devices such as SIS solar cells. With her investigations, Mrs. Bingel points out the possible potential of her material system to replace the previously used expensive ITO layer system (indium-tin-oxide). read more ...
