Dr. Hans-Jörg Fuchs is almost unique in the world of work: he can look back on 4 decades employment by his employer, the University of Jena and according to this he has experienced a lot.
He started as a research assistant on 01.03.1976 in the former science group "Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR)" led by Dr. Karthe in the academic field High Frequency Spectroscopy, where he received his doctorate in 1980.
After that, he was strongly involved in the design of the first own ion beam etching facility for the so called Wissenschaftsbereich "Optics of Small Structures (OKS)".
In 1982 he moved in the new building at Beutenberg - inculding the mashine - and since then he has witnessed the development of the campus, which 2016 is now almost entirely built.

The Institute congratulates to his work performance and wishes continuing success!
